Following much planning, we were able to take a team out to Uganda to install a playground facility at the Kisimula Primary school! It was a very exciting project and one that we really enjoyed, though perhaps not quite so much as the children.
The team was made up of some very practical and resourceful members, working alongside some local labour to install the playground over a two week period. The hope was to complete the playground for the start of the second school term. There had never been any playground apparatus of any sort on the school site and so this was to be a great addition to the facilities.
Team members entirely funded their own costs, as well as a contribution towards the playground build. It was a wonderful project and has really changed so much at the school. Not only is it a recreational space, but is also incorporated into physical education sessions, while the tiered seating of the back terrace makes for a great meeting venue.
